Begins the initiative of ‘one bag, one thali’ in order to aim for a plastic free Mahakumbh
An initiative named "One Bag, One Thali" has been implemented in a bid to help Prayag Raj become plastic free as we move towards the year 2025 when the cliff hanging 2nd Mahakumbh approach. Steel plates and cloth bags have been made available to the pilgrims for use in that span of 45 days during the fair in a bid to retrieval of a whopping 15 million and 20 million cloth bags respectively.
A big leaf Not only campaign encourages the pilgrims to use cloth for grabbing such items, but it also encourages the practice of using steel utensils for meals. Furthermore, 10 million leaf plates and bowls are distributed to buttress the promotion in recycling.
Now periodic gaps are seeing the progress of placement of dispensers to ensure minimum dependency on the bottles to meet the water needs A staggering 1,800 volunteers have also contributed by encouraging advocates the cause aims to promote eco-friendly substitutes.
