Congress Promises Rs 25L Health Insurance, Rs 3K for Women in J&K
In a significant pre-election move, the Congress Party on Wednesday announced five major guarantees for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a large crowd at a rally in South Kashmir, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge revealed the party's promises, aiming to uplift the Union Territory's residents.
The key guarantee includes Rs 25 lakh in health insurance coverage for every household in J&K. Additionally, the Congress has committed to providing Rs 3,000 per month to women in the region, which is expected to directly benefit thousands of families.
The Congress also pledged 150 units of free electricity per month to all households, which could significantly reduce the financial burden on many families. Furthermore, the party plans to create 10 lakh jobs, with a special focus on providing employment opportunities for the youth.
Lastly, Kharge assured the public that the party would work towards the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, a long-standing demand by many in the region.
These promises are being viewed as a strong attempt by Congress to regain political footing in J&K, as they look to challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming elections.
