NC's Role in Kashmir's Turmoil, Says Mehbooba

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, has blamed the National Conference (NC) for the ongoing turmoil in Kashmir, accusing the party of being responsible for decades of bloodshed and unrest in the region. According to Mufti, the policies of NC have contributed significantly to the destabilization of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement that has sparked widespread reactions across the political spectrum, Mufti lashed out at NC, holding them accountable for the historical issues plaguing the region. She emphasized that the party’s "self-serving policies" had created deep-seated resentment and fueled the ongoing conflict.

Mufti, who leads the People's Democratic Party (PDP), also criticized NC for exploiting the people of Kashmir for political gain. She argued that NC's leadership had repeatedly made decisions that benefited only a select few while leaving the majority of Kashmiris to suffer the consequences of conflict and instability.

"NC's actions have left a trail of devastation in Kashmir," Mufti said, urging people to be aware of the party’s role in the region’s prolonged suffering.

This accusation comes ahead of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections, where tensions between political parties are high. Mufti’s remarks may have far-reaching political implications as they add fuel to the ongoing debate about the causes of Kashmir's unrest.

The National Conference has yet to respond to these allegations. Meanwhile, political observers are closely monitoring the situation as the region prepares for a crucial electoral contest that could shape its future.
