Paris Hilton is heartbroken after watching her Malibu beachfront home burn down on live TV during the Palisades Fire in Southern California. The 43 year old media personality and entrepreneur posted about her devastation on social media after seeing her family’s beach house go up in flames according to local reports.

The house was “completely gone” and “burned to a crisp” according to sources. It wasn’t her primary residence as she has multiple homes in the LA area.

She posted on Instagram to share her pain, with footage of the news broadcast showing the damage on the Pacific Coast Highway after the fire started on Tuesday.

The fire is now the largest in LA County history and firefighters are still fighting the flames on Wednesday evening.

“Broken heart. Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our Malibu home burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to go through” she wrote on her Instagram post.

She has two kids and shared that the home held many memories especially of their milestones.

“This home was where we made so many special memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of making a lifetime of memories with London” she wrote.

Despite the loss, she’s grateful her family is safe.

Her 11:11 Media Impact Team has started reaching out to NGOs to support those affected by the fires.

“We will do our best to help as soon as possible and make a real difference for those who need it most” she wrote. She thanked firefighters and first responders calling them “true heroes” and urged residents to follow evacuation orders. The Palisades Fire has claimed 5 lives according to the LA County Sheriff’s Department as the fire continues to rage through Southern California. The fire is 0% contained and has burned over 15,800 acres between the beach towns of Santa Monica and Malibu.

Over 70,000 people have been evacuated with 30,000 structures threatened. Powerful Santa Ana winds have sparked multiple fires in LA County since Tuesday and conditions will remain critical through Thursday even though winds have died down overnight. Two other big fires are burning in the area - the Eaton Fire which has burned over 10,600 acres near Pasadena and the Hurst Fire in Sylmar which has burned at least 500 acres. In total over 100,000 people have been ordered to evacuate in the affected areas.
