The intensity of summer in India is increasing day by day, and with it the suffering of the people. The temperature has already reached close to 40 degrees Celsius in different parts of the country, which is much higher than normal. In such a context, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a severe heat wave situation in Gujarat, Delhi and Chandigarh for the next 4 to 5 days.
According to meteorologists, a dry and hot air stream is blowing over northwest India, due to which the day temperature is increasing at a very fast rate. Especially in Delhi and Chandigarh, the roads are almost empty after noon. In various districts of Gujarat, the temperature has already crossed 43 degrees.
Taking this heatwave situation seriously, the Meteorological Department has advised the general public to take precautions. It has been advised not to go out from 11 am to 3 pm, drink plenty of water, wear light and loose clothes and avoid direct exposure to the sun.
Especially for children, the elderly and the sick, extreme heat can be more dangerous. Health risks such as dehydration, heat stroke and skin problems are emerging for many. According to doctors, it is best to stay indoors and maintain a cool environment during this time.
It is worth noting that the incidence of such extreme heat waves is now increasing every year in summer due to the impact of climate change. Experts fear that such heatwaves may become more frequent and prolonged in the coming decades unless we take effective steps to protect nature and the environment now.
In this situation, state governments as well as citizens should ensure their own protection through caution and awareness, because it is never wise to take nature's beauty lightly.
