Fremont, California 04/26/25:

In a significant and emotionally charged demonstration, Hindu American Foundation (HAF), Kashmiri Overseas Association (KOA), Kashmiri Hindu Foundation (KHF), and the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) jointly organized a major protest today in to condemn the brutal terrorist attack on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

The demonstrators, carrying saffron flags, placards, and banners, gathered to express their deep anguish and anger over yet another act of terror targeting Hindus in the Kashmir Valley. The protestors also paid solemn homage to all Hindu martyrs of Kashmir, from the early victims of forced conversions and persecution since the advent of Islam in the region to the catastrophic genocide and mass exodus of the Kashmiri Pandit community in 1989-90.

Ankit Monga, President of Kashmiri Hindu Foundation USA categorically stated, "No superficial rehabilitation measures, return plans, or 'reconciliation gimmicks' would succeed. Kashmiri Hindus must be re-established in a Union Territory of Panun Kashmir, under full constitutional protection and direct governance by India", arguing that this is the only way for India to establish a strong foothold in Kashmir and establish real sense of normalcy. "The Govt. must not use tourism as a tool to claim normalcy and instead must issue a travel advisory for the citizens of India travelling to Kashmir for their safety and security recognising the threat on their lives", Monga added.

Speakers passionately recounted the long, painful history of religiously motivated violence that has, over centuries, systematically destroyed Kashmir's indigenous Hindu civilization. They asserted that the recent attack was not an isolated event but part of a deeply entrenched continuum of Jatividhwans (genocide), that seeks to erase the cultural and spiritual heritage of Kashmir.

The protestors raised slogans demanding justice for the Kashmiri Hindu community, recognition of their genocide, and the establishment of a separate Homeland Panun Kashmir within the Valley of Kashmir. Rashmi Dhar, a Kashmiri Pandit demonstrator said, "without the creation of Panun Kashmir as a Union Territory within India, ensuring absolute security, freedom, and dignity for Kashmiri Hindus, no return would be possible, nor would normalcy and peace be restored in Kashmir."

One of the central demands of the demonstration was the immediate enactment of the Panun Kashmir Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Bill 2020. "The Genocide Bill represents not just a legislative formality but a moral commitment to acknowledging, documenting, and prosecuting the long-ignored crimes committed against the indigenous Hindu population of Kashmir", remarked Ajay Dhar.

Some of the slogans raised during the protest were.

"Bharat Mata Ki Jai!"

"Recognize Kashmiri Hindu Genocide Now!"

"Enact Genocide Bill!"

"We Demand Panun Kashmir homeland!"

"Shun the Hoax of Kashmiri, Destroy Jihad!"

"Normalcy Claims Put Hindu Lives In Danger!"

The demonstraties condemned the successive political establishments that, according to them, have not only failed to deliver justice to the Kashmiri Hindus but have consistently tried to suppress the truth about the genocide. They stressed that superficial development initiatives or token political gestures cannot heal the wounds inflicted by decades of terror, betrayal, and exile. "The denial of Kashmiri Pandit genocide has resulted into the attacks like the Pahalgam Hindu Massacre. We demand immediate recognition and reparation of the genocide, and carving out of Panun Kashmir homeland", said Pawan Raina.

Recalling their experiences, several speakers from Kashmiri Hindu community highlighted that the plight of the Kashmiri Hindus remains one of the most underreported and deliberately ignored human rights crises in the world. "Our homes were burnt, our temples desecrated, our families murdered, our dignity attacked, and yet the world has remained silent," said Anuradha Kaul, emphasizing the urgent need for international solidarity, intervention and justice.

The demonstration was part of a broader wave of protests organized by the Kashmiri Hindu diaspora and allied organizations across the globe over recent weeks, rallies have been held in major cities, creating a growing chorus demanding recognition of the Kashmiri Hindu genocide and a pre-requisite step for a permanent political solution.

Tributes were paid to the martyrs of the Pahalgam Massacre. All organisers spoke up about protection of Hindu's religious rights and called for global recognition and action against Jihadi terrorism. Two Jewish community organizations - American Jewish Committee and Stand With Us also showed solidarity with Hindus and India. They reiterated that Hindus and India were not alone in this war against Jihad. They extended support both as the Jewish people and Israelis to the demands raised at the protest for prevention of such genocidal attritions against Hindus in Kashmir.

Throughout the protest, the vision of Panun Kashmir was presented not merely as a demand but as the "only viable and just solution to reverse the genocide".

The event drew support from Indian-American community leaders, human rights defenders, and other Hindu advocacy organizations, all of whom stood in solidarity with the cause. Many underscored that the struggle for Panun Kashmir is a struggle for civilizational justice , the right of a people to live in their ancestral homeland without fear, coercion, or persecution.

As the demonstration concluded, the protestors took a solemn pledge to continue their efforts in every international forum until the demands for justice, recognition, and homeland are fulfilled.

"Our struggle is not for revenge, but for restoration of our lives, our culture, our temples, and our right to exist as free people in our own land. Kashmir will only become safe for Hindus in particular and fellow Indians in general when indigenous Kashmiri Hindus are resettled in their own homeland Panun Kashmir," said Satish Raina vowing never to allow the world to forget the tragedy and resilience of the Kashmiri Hindu community.

"Kashmiri Hindu Foundation USA and community diaspora in America extend our full support to the rally being organised by Panun Kashmir on May 11 in Jammu to highlight the demands of the community", asserted Ankit Monga, President KHF USA.
