Ghulam Nabi Azad, veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad is most likely to launch his party in the next few days, after ending his more than fifty years long association with the Congress party last month.

In a brief interaction with media at his residence in Delhi, the leader said that he will be invited media on Monday prior to the launch of his party. He was there to meet the workers and leaders. He also revealed that the name and flag of the new party have been decided and very soon, it is going to become a reality in the political landscape of India's Jammu and Kashmir.

At the age of 73, Azad quit Congress on August 26 while calling the party "comprehensively destroyed". He also got infuriated at Rahul Gandhi for demolishing the entire consultative mechanism of the party.

Over two dozen leaders in Congress including several former ministers and legislators, and deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand extended support towards Azad by resigning from the Congress party. He plans the top agenda of his new party to be about restoring Jammu and Kashmir's statehood and protecting the job and land rights of its citizens.
