New Delhi: Suniel Shetty, a Bollywood actor, challenged Indians in a patriotic and aggressive message to pick Kashmir as the next holiday destination despite the latest terror attack on Pahalgam that resulted in 26 fatalities, among them a Nepali citizen.

Talking to the press during the ceremony of the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2025, Shetty insisted that we have to display solidarity and courage by giving a boost to Kashmir's tourism industry.

"As responsible citizens, it is our turn. Let's take a decision that our next vacation will be in Kashmir — nowhere else. We have to display these terrorists that we are not afraid," declared the 'Dhadkan' actor emotively.

Suniel Shetty also disclosed that he had phoned the authorities himself, promising to go to Kashmir as a tourist or an artist to help bring about normalcy and confidence among the local population.

"I called them and expressed that if necessary, we are willing to go there, either as tourists or for film shootings. We are prepared to support the spirit of Kashmir by our being there," he stated.

Emphasizing the need for national unity, Shetty urged all citizens to remain united against efforts to instill fear and divide.

"Unity at this point is imperative. They must realize that we are not deterred. Kashmir has remained, continues to remain, and will forever remain a part of India. Our military personnel, leaders, and citizens are united in safeguarding and restoring the region," he stated.

The savage assault on April 22 at Baisaran meadow, one of the major tourist attractions in Pahalgam, has evoked anger throughout the nation. The Central government responded by organizing an all-party meeting on Thursday to deliberate on the current security scenario and come up with a firm, joint strategy to combat terrorism in the area.
