The defendants, Parveen (32) and Priyanka Madhan (28), together with their counterpart Vishal alias Paaji in Poland and Jasvir, an assistant sub-inspector in the Punjab police, were involved in setting up fraudulent Polish visas. They were primarily active in Punjab and the neighbouring state of Haryana, where they assisted people in illegally establishing down in Europe.
Tanu Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport), stated that on June 15, one male passenger, Sarabjeet Singh, with an Indian passport number and a Polish residence visa, requested immigration clearance for Paris.
“During the scrutiny of the travel documents, the Polish residence visa appeared to be suspect, and after thorough examination, it was discovered that the visa was a duplicate without any specific UV features and intaglio mark, indicating that the residence visa was fake,” the DCP stated.
As a result of the passenger’s attempt to defraud Indian immigration, a FIR was filed under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using a forged document as genuine), and 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
Sarabjeet gave Jasvir a cash advance of Rs 60,000 and deposited Rs 30,000 in the bank account of Flying Star Overseas, the accused couple’s immigration consultancy.
Parveen and Priyanka fled their rented home in Dwarka after learning of Sarabjeet’s arrest and kept changing their location. However, they were apprehended by Jaipur police.
So far, police have recovered 18 Indian passports from various individuals, 11 debit cards from various banks, six mobile phones, and seven cheque books at the accused’s request.
