After Senegal, Vice Prez Venkaiah Naidu all set to visit Qatar

After Senegal, Indian Vice President Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu is slated to visit Qatar today. the visit will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Qatar. The vice president will also embark on a larger tour of the country.

During his visit, Naidu will aim to strengthen the partnership with Qatar by expanding existing economic and political engagement. Areas to be discussed during the visit will include machinery, human resource, construction and manufacturing materials, electronics, textiles, and pharmaceuticals.

Also, the visit will ink promises of increased imports of ethylene propylene, aluminum, urea, and petroleum products. 

Qatar being averse to alleged human rights violations in India, including in Kashmir, and Islamophobia will also be touched on during the Vice president’s visit. 

After the disruption in energy supply due to Ukraine- Russia war, India is focusing on energy security and global energy stability and is expecting fruitful negotiations on increasing bilateral trade with Qatar.
