Chinese Phone manufacturing company Vivo came under ED’s radar as the probe agency raided the company and other firms related to it.

The central probe agency conducted multiple searches at around 44 locations across the country in connection with money laundering.

In December 2021, the Vivo company and other related firms were raided by the Income Tax Department at around 20 locations. Oppo, Xiaomi, and OnePlus were also raided by the ITD.

The search came after the department received an intelligence input indicating the tax evasion by showing lower revenue than actually generated. Also, in August 2021, five premises of telecom vendor ZTE, controlled by the Chinese government, was also raided.
