Drug consumption is more concerning than alcohol for students in Goa.

Goa state commission for Protection of Child right informed that cases of Substance abuse are growing day by day in Goa, which is doing more harm than alcohol consumption.

Goa SCPCR Called a meeting of different NGOs, antidrug groups, etc to find data on substance abuse in the youth of Goa and to remove this drug addiction disease from Goa. According to a report it is found that most of the alcohol drinkers in Goa were industrial workers which is 21℅ of the reported rates but more of the reported cases are of students and youth who are taking drugs.  Which is a matter of concern.

Drug abuse problem is now eating into the very fabric of Goan society & doing much more damage than even alcohol, that's resulting in tragic consequences for young Adolescents, their families, and their communities.

This April an incident occurred where 2 youths died due to an overdose in Curtrim village during a birthday party, that shocked the entire Goa.

Goa SCPCR Is coordinating efforts with Governmental  Departments and civil society organizations to strengthen preventive initiatives in the state, like the Promotion of Prahari clubs, Capacity building of Stakeholders, and formulation & adaptation of School drug Policy, to set normative values.

Goa cops are also reaching out to kids and doing raids in different places to find the Drug flow chain in Goa.
