On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti today, PM Narendra Modi paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi. Remembering him, he urged everyone to purchase handicrafts and khadi products as a tribute to him.
October 2 also marks the birth anniversary of India's second prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri. PM Modi fondly remembered Shastri who is admired across the nation for him decisiveness and simplicity.
On this occasion, PM Narendra Modi tweeted and extended his homage to Mahatma Gandhi for Gandhi Jayanti. He wrote that this Gandhi Jayanti is even more special because India is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He hoped that we all live up to Bapu's ideals, and also urged all to purchase Khadi and handicrafts products to pay tribute to Gandhi Ji.
Paying his homage to Lal Bahadur Shastri, he highlighted that Shastri is remembered and admired all across India for his simplicity and decisiveness. He looked back at his tough leadership in the nation during a very crucial time in our history.
PM Modi also shared pictures from his gallery depicting his presence in the "Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya" in Delhi, where one can see Lal Bahadur Shastri's journey and achievements.
He also posted recordings of his tributes to the two big leaders, which he had made on different occasions.
