The Prime Minister will launch Digital India Week 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off Digital India Week 2022 today in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. During the event, Mr Modi will announce a number of digital initiatives aimed at improving technology accessible, streamlining service delivery to ensure ease of living, and boosting startups. AIR correspondent reports that on the occasion, ‘Digital India Bhashini’ will be unveiled by the Prime Minister, which will enable easy access to the internet and digital services in Indian languages, including voice-based access, and help the creation of content in Indian languages. Mr Modi will also launch ‘Digital India GENESIS’ - a National Deep-tech Startup Platform, to discover, support, grow and make successful startups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities of India. A total outlay of 750 crore rupees has been envisaged for the scheme.


The Prime Minister will unveil 'Indiastack.global,' a global repository of significant initiatives implemented as part of the India Stack, including as Aadhaar, UPI, Digilocker, Cowin Vaccination Platform, and Government e MarketPlace, among others. This contribution by India to the Global Public Digital Goods repository would help position India as a leader in developing large-scale digital transformation projects. It will also be of great assistance to other countries seeking such technological solutions.


The Prime Minister will dedicate 'MyScheme' to people, a service discovery portal that will facilitate access to Government Schemes. It intends to provide a one-stop search and discovery platform where users can locate programmes for which they are eligible. He will also dedicate 'Meri Pehchaan'- National Single Sign On for One Citizen Login- to the citizens. National Single Sign-On is a user authentication solution that allows access to different internet applications or services using a single set of credentials. Mr. Modi will also unveil the first 30 institutions to be supported by the Chips to Startup Program. The C2S Programme seeks to teach specialised personnel in the field of semiconductor chip design at the bachelor's, master's, and research levels.
