More than 200 doses of the Covid vaccine (first, second, and precautionary) have already been administered around the nation. There is still a long way to go in the national vaccination drive. Officials stated on Sunday that "India's COVID vaccination program isn't over yet."

It was discovered through its official sources that "the government still has a stock of three Cr vaccine doses to be administered."

The government's COVID vaccination programme is nearing its conclusion, but it is still ongoing. Approximately 3 Cr Covid 19 doses are still in stock with the government at the various centres, and the stock is enough for a few months, according to officials. Adding that the Covid19 cases will also play a role in the final decision.

Sources emphasized the importance of the nation's ongoing vaccination drive while stating that as of right now, vaccination purchases are not necessary. However, this does not indicate that the government's COVID vaccination programme is over.

Notably, the Central Government is dedicated to stepping up and broadening the COVID-19 vaccination programme across the nation. On January 16, 2021, the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign began.

On June 21, 2021, the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination programme went into effect. The availability of more vaccinations, as well as greater visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain, increased the vaccination effort.

The Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by giving them free COVID-19 vaccinations as part of the current national vaccination drive.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a total of 219.32 crores of doses of the COVID-19 vaccination have been given out thus far. The COVID-19 vaccination programme for children aged 12 to 14 also began on March 16, 2022. The first dose of has been given to more than 7 crore (7,32,69,084) adolescents.
