BJP jubilant after winning 3 out of 4 seats in Tripura by-polls, Congress’s Sudip Roy wins Agartala seat

The Election Commission confirmed that Saha had won the bypolls with a margin of 6,104 votes. Congress’s Sudip Roy Barman also bagged the Agartala seat by a margin of 3,163 votes

The BJP secured victory in three out of four bypoll seats in Tripura and CM of the state Manik Saha also bagged victory in assembly polls in Bardowali constituency and hence will continue to serve as the chief minister.


The Election Commission confirmed that Saha had won the bypolls with a margin of 6,104 votes. Congress’s Sudip Roy Barman also bagged the Agartala seat by a margin of 3,163 votes. 


Apart from Town Bardowali, BJP won seats in Jubarajnagar and Surma in Tripura bypolls. Soon after the EC declared the results, the saffron party workers celebrated the victory of CM Manik Saha.


Last month, when CM Biblab Deb stepped down from the CM post, Saha was appointed as the new chief minister of the state. To continue his services as the CM he needed to win the bypolls. 


The EC official started counting votes at around 8 pm. The bypolls of 


the Agartala, Town Bardowali, Surma and Jubarajnagar seats were held on June 23.
