The MLAs are arriving at the State Assembly as the election for Speaker is going to be held there today.

Also, the newly formed Shiv Sena-BJP government is slated to exhibit its majority by going for a floor test on the 4th of July. The newly-sworn CM Shinde has garnered the support of almost 50 MLAs, including 19 dissident legislators of Shiv Sena.

The Speaker’s post of Maharashtra’s Assembly Speaker has been vacant for more than a year. it was in February 2021 when Nana Patole resigned from the post and since then the seat has been unoccupied.
