Rahul Gandhi visits Congress MP’s vandalized office in Wayanad

"Everywhere in the country, you see the idea that violence will resolve problems. And, violence never resolves problems... It’s not a good thing to do.. they acted irresponsibly.”

On Friday Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited his party’s MP’s office in Wayanad which was vandalized by SFI activists. SFI is a students’ wing of the CPI party.

The visit came amid Rahul Gandhi’s three-day visit to Kerala. There he checked the damage done to the office.

After taking stock of the situation, Gandhi talked to the media and threw light upon the damage inflicted on the office. He termed the incident as a “quite unfortunate thing” and urged the students to refrain from such activities.

He also emphasized that violence is not the solution but further worsens the situation.

"Everywhere in the country, you see the idea that violence will resolve problems. And, violence never resolves problems... It’s not a good thing to do.. they acted irresponsibly. But, I don’t have any anger or hostility towards them," Rahul said.

Rahul Gandhi also called the SFI students who were involved in the violence “kids”.

The Congress MP’s office was vandalized last week when SFI staged a protest against Rahul Gandhi. The protestors allegedly broke into the office and caused damage there. CM Pinarayi Vijayan also strongly condemned the violence and assured that strict action shall be taken against those who were involved in the violence.
