RAJASTHAN CONGRESS MLA BHANWAR LAL SHARMA NO MORE

Bhanwar Lal Sharma, a prominent Rajasthani Congress politician, passed away on Sunday in Jaipur at the age of 77. On Saturday, he was brought to SMS Hospital after he reported feeling uneasy. 


Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, expressed his condolences after learning of his passing. “He was unwell for a long time. I was in touch with his family members regarding his health and I reached SMS hospital last night. I met his doctors and his family. I pray to God to give strength to the bereaved family in this very difficult time and give peace to the departed soul” he tweeted.


Bhanwar Lal Sharma was born on April 17, 1945, in the Sardarshahar hamlet of Jaitsisar in the Churu district of Rajasthan. At the age of 17, Sharma began his political career. He was appointed Jaitsisar Gram Panchayat's sarpanch in 1962. From 1962 through 1982, he remained the Sarpanch. He was selected as the Sardarshahar Panchayat Samiti's leader in 1982. 


In 1985, Sharma ran for his first Rajasthan assembly seat with the Lok Dal and later was elected as an MLA. In 1990, he was successful in winning the election as an MLA from Janta Dal a second time. He was elected as an MLA in the elections of 1998, 2003, 2013, and 2018 using Congress tickets.


His body has been brought to his Hanuman Nagar home. For people to pay their respects, it will be preserved at the Vidyadhar Nagar Brahmin Mahasabha structure. On Monday in the late afternoon, Sardarshahar will host the last ceremonies.
