Shiv Sena revolt: “Ready to resign’’, says CM Uddhav Thackeray

" Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Kamal Nath have continuously extended their support to me, but when people of my party want me to step down it hurts because it reveals that they don’t consider me to be theirs,” CM added

Amid political revolt in the Maharashtra government, Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday said that he is “ready to resign’’. But the CM didn’t give any inkling about whether he will resign.

In a message to Shiv Sena rebel Eknath Shinde, Thackeray said, “I am ready to step down from the chief ministerial post, but can you assure me that the next CM will be from Shiv Sena.”

The Maharashtra CM also expressed his discontent with Shinde’s decision to turn his back on him. Thackeray said that he was hurt by the step taken by Shinde.

"Tell me straight away that you want me to resign. I became CM accidentally and never had a hunger for the seat”, said Udhav Thackeray.

" Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Kamal Nath have continuously extended their support to me, but when people of my party want me to step down it hurts because it reveals that they don’t consider me to be theirs,” CM added.

Uddhav Thackeray addressed the people through Facebook Live. His speech came soon after 30 MLAs expressed their support for Eknath Shinde and wrote to the Maharashtra governor.
