US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying the country must “move fast” toward a deal with Washington or face severe consequences as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!” The statement comes amid stalled negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme and continuing regional instability.
The warning follows reports that diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran have reached a deadlock after Tehran rejected parts of a proposed American framework linked to nuclear restrictions and regional security arrangements. Iranian officials reportedly argued that Washington had failed to offer meaningful concessions in exchange for Tehran’s cooperation.
Trump’s remarks also came shortly after his conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as concerns grow over the possibility of renewed military action in the region. Reports suggest the US administration is reviewing additional strategic and military options if diplomatic efforts fail to produce progress.
The ongoing conflict has already intensified tensions across the Middle East, with global attention focused on the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. Disruptions in the region have raised fears over energy security and the potential impact on global fuel prices.
Iran has continued to insist on sanctions relief, release of frozen assets, and guarantees over its sovereignty as part of any future agreement. Meanwhile, Washington has maintained that preventing Iran from advancing its nuclear capabilities remains a central condition in negotiations.
The latest exchange of threats has further increased uncertainty over the future of peace efforts, with analysts warning that the diplomatic window may be narrowing rapidly.
