A sad incident Rameswaram café blast! Two chargesheets for financing terrorism by Muslim youth

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against the two men for their involvement in terror financing among Muslim youths and other anti-national activities. The probe into the case, originally filed by the state police in September 2022, it added.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against two persons for their involvement in terror financing among Muslim youth and other anti-national activities, an official statement said.

 The probe Into the case, originally filed by the state police in September 2022, it added.

 The two have been identified as ISIS radicals, Abdul Mathin Ahmed Taha alias Taha and Musavir Hussain Shajib alias Shajib, who were earlier chargesheeted by the NIA in the Rameswaram café blast case, it said.

 “Residents of Shivmoga district, the two persons were engaged in radicalization and recruitment of innocent Muslim youth including co-accused in the instant case,” the statement issued by the investigating agency said.

 The NIA has filed a third supplementary charge sheet against both the militants in a special court here. In this case, 10 accused have been chargesheeted.

 The case taken over by the NIA from the Karnataka Police in November 2022 relates to the anti-India activities of the banned terrorist organization Islamic State (IS/ISIS), it said.

 “The accused were involved in violent activities like arson, judicial blasts and burning of the Indian national flag besides extremism, recruitment, financing of terrorism as part of the IS conspiracy to spread terror and destabilize the nation,” the statement said.
