Bukhari: Kashmir’s Future Tied to Delhi, Not Islamabad or Washington

Apni Party leader Altaf Bukhari has asserted that the future of Jammu and Kashmir is closely linked to New Delhi, not Islamabad or Washington. Addressing a gathering in Srinagar, Bukhari reiterated his party’s stance that constructive dialogue with the Indian government is the only path forward for the region’s stability and development.

Bukhari criticized external forces, particularly Pakistan and the United States, for attempting to meddle in Kashmir's affairs, saying, "Neither Islamabad nor Washington will decide our future. It is with New Delhi that we must engage for peace and progress." He urged people to abandon false hopes placed on international intervention and instead focus on building stronger ties with the Indian government.

The Apni Party leader’s remarks come ahead of the highly anticipated Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, where political discourse has been heated, and the region’s future status remains a contentious issue.

Bukhari also called upon the Indian government to ensure free and fair elections in the region, emphasizing the need for greater political participation from the local populace.

In conclusion, Bukhari highlighted the need for peace and development in Kashmir, stressing that the time for empty promises is over, and the focus should shift toward meaningful, productive engagement with New Delhi.
