Constitution Day Celebration Sparks Women Power in Kupwara

Kupwara witnessed a vibrant celebration of Constitution Day on Friday as Congress State Observer Ab Rahim Rather joined hands with the Mahila Congress to honor the cornerstone of India's democracy. The event, spearheaded by District President Sheikh Tahira, saw enthusiastic participation from women leaders and workers across the district.

In a heartfelt speech, Rather emphasized the importance of the Constitution in ensuring equality and justice for all citizens, especially women. "The Constitution is not just a document; it is a testament to our collective struggle for freedom and dignity," he remarked.

Sheikh Tahira echoed this sentiment, urging the women of Kupwara to actively engage in the political landscape. "Women's participation is vital for a thriving democracy. We must be the voice of change and equality," she said.

The event also included discussions on constitutional rights and duties, with a special focus on empowering women through education and leadership. Workers shared their perspectives on the challenges faced by women in the region and pledged to address these issues through collective action.

The celebration ended on a high note with a symbolic gesture—a collective reading of the Preamble to reaffirm their commitment to democratic values.

Through this initiative, the Congress party in Kupwara aims to reinforce its dedication to women's empowerment, while also strengthening its grassroots connection in the region. The program was seen as a significant step toward promoting inclusivity and democratic awareness among women.
