Crisis Looms for Global South! PM Modi at G-20

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the G-20 Summit, expressed deep concern over the mounting crises faced by the Global South. Highlighting the devastating impact of conflicts on food, fuel, and fertilizer supplies, Modi emphasized the disproportionate toll these challenges have taken on developing nations.

PM Modi underscored how these critical shortages are not isolated issues but interconnected problems that deepen inequality and hinder sustainable development. He urged the world's leading economies to prioritize inclusive growth and ensure fair access to essential resources.

"The Global South is bearing the brunt of a crisis it did not create," Modi stated, pointing to the long-term repercussions of geopolitical tensions and protectionist policies. He stressed the importance of fostering unity and strengthening multilateral institutions to address the root causes of these shortages.

Opinion among analysts remains divided. While many applaud Modi's call for collaboration, others question the efficacy of the G-20 in implementing meaningful solutions. Critics argue that addressing such systemic issues requires more than high-level summits and rhetoric.

Nevertheless, the Prime Minister's plea for action resonated with member nations, as several leaders echoed similar concerns. The summit concluded with a renewed commitment to exploring innovative solutions, although concrete steps remain to be seen.

As the Global South continues to grapple with these challenges, the need for a unified global response has never been more urgent. Whether the G-20's promises translate into tangible outcomes, however, remains a question of time and willpower.
