Denied ticket, Haji Farooq quits PC

Srinagar, Aug 18 (KNO): Vice-chairman of district council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad on Sunday resigned from Peoples Conference after being denied a ticket for contesting from Lolab assembly segment.

In a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Haji Farooq, who was elected VC of DDC Kupwara in 2020, said that he has announced his resignation from the party due to its conduct.

“It is with great pleasure that I along with my whole cadre (workers and sympathisers) disassociate myself from JKPC with immediate effect,” Farooq said.

Farooq resigned from the party, a day after PC nominated Mudasir Akbar Shah as constituency incharge for Lolab assembly segment.Mudasir is likely to be PC candidate from Lolab—(KNO)
