Farmer Leader’s Ultimatum: “Ensure MSP or Face My Sacrifice”  

In a heartfelt and emotionally charged letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jagtar Singh Dallewal, the prominent leader of the Bharti Kisan Union (Ekta), has warned of personal sacrifice if Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantees are not enforced. His ultimatum comes amid growing frustration among farmers over the government's silence on their long-standing demands.  

Dallewal's letter, written with a tone of urgency, underscores the desperation of farmers struggling under the weight of uncertain incomes and mounting debts. He highlighted that the absence of MSP enforcement continues to push farmers into financial instability, leaving them with no safety net against market volatility.  

Referring to the government’s previous assurances during the farmers’ protest, Dallewal accused the leadership of neglecting its commitments. "If my life is the price for justice, so be it," he reportedly wrote, echoing the collective sentiment of India’s agricultural community.  

The BJP-led central government has so far refrained from commenting on the letter. However, experts believe that the issue could escalate into another nationwide protest if immediate steps are not taken.  

Dallewal’s stance has drawn widespread attention, with opposition parties and farmer unions rallying behind him. Critics argue that the government’s reluctance to implement MSP guarantees signals an indifference to rural woes, potentially alienating a significant voter base ahead of elections.  

As the tension mounts, Dallewal’s message reverberates as a poignant reminder of the ongoing plight of India’s farmers, who continue to fight for dignity and financial security. The ball now lies squarely in the Prime Minister’s court.
