Heavy Rains Devastate Telangana, Andhra: 10 Dead, 99 Trains Cancelled

Heavy rains have wreaked havoc across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 people and forcing the cancellation of 99 train services. The relentless downpour has led to severe flooding, submerging roads, cutting off villages, and causing widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response to the crisis, 26 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed across the two states to carry out rescue and relief operations. The teams are working tirelessly to evacuate stranded residents, provide emergency supplies, and ensure that those affected receive the help they need.

Authorities in both states have issued high alerts, advising residents in low-lying areas to move to safer locations as rivers overflow and reservoirs reach dangerous levels. The heavy rainfall has also led to landslides in some regions, further complicating rescue efforts.

Railway services have been severely impacted, with 99 trains cancelled due to waterlogged tracks and unsafe travel conditions. The disruptions have stranded thousands of passengers, and railway authorities are working to restore services as soon as it is safe to do so.

The situation remains critical, with meteorological departments predicting more rain in the coming days. The governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are coordinating closely with the central government to manage the crisis and minimize further loss of life and property. Residents are urged to stay indoors and follow the instructions of local authorities until the situation stabilizes.
