Hopes of Murmu for a Brighter India
President Droupadi Murmu wished the happy New Year to the country with hope for wealth and unity in India for the year 2024. Inter alia, she pointed out the need for doing things together, bearing hardships, and finding new ways to get through and look forward to brighter futures for all.
Murmu highlighted India's multiple cultural diversity and urged it to have an inclusiveness and harmony basis for national progress. The president said that all citizens should be committed to democratic values and work together in pursuit of the aspirations in the nation.
Further, she lauded the great fighting spirit of the Indians and said that the work done by the citizens in different sectors in the year 2023 will benefit them. Lessons learnt in the past year will, she added, help everyone to use those lessons as a metaphorical stone to grow further.
"Let us make this year a torch of hope, unity, and progress," said Murmu. Together, we can build an India that enshrines values of equality, compassion, and sustainability.
