A fire broke out at the MLA Hostel in Srinagar on Friday, triggering panic among the residents. The incident, which occurred in the early hours, caused significant property damage but miraculously resulted in no loss of life. Firefighters rushed to the scene and brought the flames under control after several hours of intense effort.  

Initial reports suggest that the fire originated from an electrical short circuit, though the exact cause is still under investigation. The hostel, housing several legislators and government officials, is located in the high-security zone of Srinagar, raising concerns about the adequacy of fire safety measures in such critical infrastructures.
