India has taken a significant step in improving food safety by joining hands with Brazil and Bhutan. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) on Sunday, aimed at strengthening food safety standards in both nations.

The partnership will focus on joint projects, knowledge exchange, and technical collaboration, allowing both countries to share expertise and resources to improve their food safety frameworks. FSSAI CEO G. Kamala Vardhana Rao highlighted the importance of this MoU, emphasizing that food safety is a growing concern in today's globalized food market.

Brazil, known for its advanced agricultural practices and high standards in food safety, brings a wealth of experience to this collaboration. The MoU covers areas such as food testing, certification processes, and capacity-building initiatives that can greatly benefit India’s food safety systems.

Bhutan, already a close partner in the region, will also be part of this collaborative effort, ensuring that South Asia takes a leadership role in promoting safer food across borders. The agreement signals a new chapter of cooperation between India, Brazil, and Bhutan in ensuring healthier food systems for their populations.

This development is expected to pave the way for future collaborations in food safety, positioning India at the forefront of global standards.
