India’s Rise as a Manufacturing Giant: PM Modi Praises ‘Make in India’

In his latest ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the ‘Make in India’ initiative as a major force behind India’s growing status as a global manufacturing powerhouse. He noted how the campaign has significantly benefitted the middle class and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), propelling economic growth.

PM Modi highlighted that the initiative, launched in 2014, has created new opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses, boosting domestic production and reducing dependency on imports. The rise of local manufacturing has not only fueled job creation but also strengthened India's position in the global market.

“The middle class, especially young entrepreneurs, are reaping the benefits of this movement. MSMEs are flourishing, and this is a big step toward self-reliant India,” Modi said.

He further mentioned that several global companies are now investing in India, making it a preferred destination for manufacturing, thanks to the supportive policies and ease of doing business under the campaign.

Modi reiterated his government's commitment to continue fostering an environment that promotes innovation, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship, ensuring a bright future for India on the global stage.
