Jaishankar Takes a Subtle Dig at Rahul Gandhi: “Life Isn’t Khata-Khat”

In what many are interpreting as a thinly-veiled attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar remarked, “Life is not Khata-Khat,” during a public speech. The phrase, which loosely means that life is not about instant results or quick fixes, seemed to be aimed at Gandhi's frequent criticisms of the government’s policies and diplomatic approaches.

Jaishankar, speaking at an event in New Delhi, stressed that diplomacy, governance, and international relations are complex and cannot yield immediate results. His comment came in response to growing impatience from critics about the government’s handling of various issues, both domestic and international.

Though Jaishankar did not directly mention Rahul Gandhi, the audience quickly connected his remark to the Congress leader, who has often criticized the Modi government for not acting swiftly enough on key matters. Gandhi has also been vocal about foreign policy issues, including India's stance on China and global alliances, leading to frequent exchanges between the Congress and the BJP.

The External Affairs Minister further explained that in the world of diplomacy, "results come after careful planning and time." His comments reflect the BJP's broader stance, positioning itself as a government that takes a long-term view of governance, unlike its critics, who demand quick changes.

This statement has sparked fresh political discussions, with many anticipating further reactions from the Congress camp.
