Kashmir Erupts in Protests After Nasrallah’s Killing
Srinagar, Kashmir — The streets of Kashmir were engulfed in chaos as large crowds gathered on Monday to protest the killing of prominent activist Nasrallah. His death, reportedly under suspicious circumstances, has sparked outrage across the region. Protesters accuse local authorities of negligence, claiming they failed to ensure Nasrallah’s safety despite repeated threats against his life.
Chanting slogans for justice, demonstrators clashed with security forces in Srinagar and several other districts. Tear gas and water cannons were deployed to disperse the increasingly agitated crowds. Many protesters carried banners demanding an independent investigation into Nasrallah’s death, calling it a politically motivated murder.
The situation escalated as some groups resorted to stone-pelting, leading to injuries on both sides. Police officials confirmed several arrests but maintained that the situation was “under control.”
Nasrallah, who was known for his outspoken criticism of human rights abuses in the region, had received multiple threats over the years. His supporters claim that his killing was a targeted attack aimed at silencing dissent in Kashmir.
As the protests show no sign of slowing down, calls for accountability are growing louder. Political leaders have urged calm, but the public’s demand for justice continues to fuel the unrest. Authorities are on high alert as tensions remain volatile in the aftermath of Nasrallah’s death.
