Kejriwal Raises Alarm Over Delhi Crime Surge

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed grave concerns over the city's deteriorating law and order situation. In a strongly-worded letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Kejriwal highlighted the alarming rise in crimes and the increasing number of bomb threats that have left the capital’s residents on edge.

Kejriwal’s letter criticized the central government for its failure to ensure the safety of Delhiites, citing recent high-profile incidents that have sparked public outrage. He questioned the efficiency of the police force, which operates under the central government's jurisdiction, and demanded immediate measures to restore a sense of security in the city.

Pointing to a series of bomb threats in public spaces, Kejriwal emphasized that such incidents are not just threats to life but also harm the image of the capital. He urged the Home Minister to strengthen intelligence networks and increase police patrolling to prevent further crimes.

Political analysts see Kejriwal’s letter as a strategic move to highlight the BJP-led central government’s shortcomings ahead of upcoming elections. While critics accuse him of politicizing the issue, his supporters argue that the CM is merely voicing the concerns of ordinary citizens.

With Delhi’s crime rate under scrutiny, this exchange between the Chief Minister and the Home Minister could set the tone for future debates on safety and governance in the capital.
