LPG Cylinder Price Hiked by ₹48.50, Hits Commercial Users Hard

In a significant blow to the commercial sector, the price of a 19-kg LPG cylinder has been hiked by ₹48.50, effective immediately. This sudden rise is expected to increase the financial burden on small businesses, hotels, and restaurants that rely heavily on commercial gas cylinders for daily operations.

The revised price brings the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder to around ₹1,845 in major cities, with slight variations across regions. This is the second price hike in recent months, adding to the growing concerns of businesses already facing inflationary pressures.

Small business owners have expressed their frustration over the increase, stating that it will lead to higher operating costs, which could eventually be passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices for food and services.

Industry experts predict that the hospitality sector will feel the brunt of the price hike, with many restaurants already struggling to recover from the impact of the pandemic. The government has yet to comment on whether any relief measures will be introduced to mitigate the effects of this increase.

With no respite in sight, businesses now face the challenge of absorbing the additional costs while keeping services affordable for their customers. The price hike is likely to further fuel debates on inflation and economic management.
