Omar Abdullah criticizes the BJP-led government for lacking Muslim representation, marking it as the first administration in Indian history to exclude Muslim ministers since Independence.
Omar: BJP Govt Anti-Muslim, No Muslim Minister for First Time Since Independence
In a scathing attack on the BJP-led government, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has accused the current administration of being anti-Muslim. He pointed out that for the first time since India's Independence, the government does not have a single Muslim minister in the Union Cabinet, raising serious concerns about the exclusion of a significant portion of India's population.
Omar’s remarks came during a political rally in Jammu and Kashmir, where he highlighted the growing marginalization of Muslims under the BJP regime. “This government is not just ignoring the Muslim community but actively sidelining them,” he stated.
The National Conference leader emphasized that the absence of Muslim ministers is not just symbolic but reflects the larger agenda of the ruling party. “India has always prided itself on being inclusive, but this is a stark deviation from our democratic principles,” Omar added.
He also warned that such policies could lead to further communal tension in the country. The opposition parties have echoed similar sentiments, calling for a more inclusive approach from the government.
The BJP, however, has dismissed these allegations, stating that its policies are aimed at the welfare of all communities and are not biased against any particular group.
