Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off six Bande Bharat Express trains on September 15 in an important event that highlights the ongoing modernization of the railway network. These express trains, each connecting Jharkhand, will be inaugurated at Tatanagar railway station in a grand ceremony. The event is expected to showcase a number of important railway infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and facilities in Jharkhand and neighboring states.

While initial reports indicated that ten Vande Bharat Express trains and the first 20-coach Vande Bharat Express were scheduled to be launched on this day, only six trains, especially those related to Jharkhand, will now be inaugurated on September 15. The next day, it was reportedly decided to streamline the inauguration process with the remaining projects scheduled for September 16.

The six Vande Bharat Express trains will cover important routes connecting major cities in Jharkhand and neighboring states, significantly improving travel efficiency for passengers across the region.

Flag off trains include: Tatanagar - Patna (South Eastern Railway): This express train flagged off from Tatanagar will strengthen the connectivity between the industrial hub of Tatanagar and Bihar capital Patna.

Varanasi - Deoghar (Northern Railway): The train departing from Deoghar will connect the spiritual centers of Varanasi and Deoghar, providing a faster and more comfortable ride for pilgrims and tourists alike.

Tatanagar - Brahmapur (South Eastern Railway): Inaugurated from Brahmapur, this service will further enhance connectivity between Jharkhand and Odisha, improving access for passengers traveling along this important industrial corridor.

Howrah - Dhanbad - Gaya (Eastern Railway): This route, with an inaugural departure from Gaya, will provide efficient travel between West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar, connecting major industrial and educational centres.

Howrah - Dumka - Bhagalpur (Eastern Railway): The train leaving Bhagalpur will strengthen connectivity between West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar, passing through important educational and administrative centres.

Howrah - Tatanagar - Rourkela (South Eastern Railway): With the inaugural journey from Rourkela, this route will support economic and industrial exchange for passengers traveling between West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha.

Apart from the inauguration of these express trains, the event will also see the unveiling of several rail projects in Jharkhand, which will reinforce the government's commitment to improving regional infrastructure. These projects, which focus on increasing rail connectivity and station modernization, are expected to bring significant development to the region.

After the Jharkhand-specific inauguration, the Prime Minister will lead another phase of the railway modernization project from Ahmedabad on September 16. During the event, PM Modi is expected to inaugurate additional Vande Bharat trains across the country and mark the launch of the first-ever Vande Metro service operating between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. The service aims to provide metro-style short-distance travel, faster and more convenient transportation for people in Gujarat.

“The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express train across Jharkhand and neighboring states is a testament to the government's broader vision to transform India's railways into a world-class network. These semi-high-speed trains, equipped with modern amenities and designed for comfort, are expected to reduce travel time and offer a superior travel experience. By connecting cities like Patna, Deoghar, Brahmapur, Dhanbad and Rourkela with major commercial and industrial hubs, these new routes will not only improve passenger connectivity but also stimulate economic activity in the region," said a railway official.
