Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa's 'Phule' To Inspire Generations This April
Much-awaited biographical drama Phule starring Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa is set for an April 11, 2025 release. Interestingly, the date happens to be the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, who was born 197 years ago on April 11.
Under one of India's distinguished directors, Ananth Mahadevan's direction, the film is about the unbelievable journey of Savitribai Phule and Jyotirao Phule, who are perhaps India's first woman teacher. Gandhi has portrayed himself as Jyotirao Phule, whereas Savitribai is played by Patralekhaa, and their courageous efforts to eradicate caste discrimination and gender biases come alive on screen.
Patralekhaa talks about the film, "It is a privilege to portray a trailblazer like Savitribai Phule, who challenged societal norms and laid the groundwork for women's education." Pratik Gandhi, of Scam 1992 fame, added, "Jyotirao's vision for an equal society is more relevant than ever.".
Phule, by Zee Studios, promises to be one of those cinematic testaments to the couple's untiring dedication to educational pursuit, social justice, and reform. The poignant story alongside an amazing cast will help reconnect that awareness of their legacy and inspire others.
Already, Phule has been predicted as being one of the game-changers of Indian cinema that will make its way in its powerful story irrespective of ages.
