Terror Ends at Dachigam
In a major breakthrough in the fight against terror in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces successfully neutralized a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative involved in the notorious Gagangir attack. The operation took place in the dense Dachigam forests, bringing relief to a region long plagued by militant activities.
The terrorist, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was said to have orchestrated the Gagangir ambush that claimed the lives of several innocent civilians and security personnel. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF launched a search operation in the Dachigam area early Thursday morning.
The encounter, which lasted for hours, ended with the death of the LeT operative. Security officials described it as a significant step in dismantling the terror network operating in the region. “This operation sends a strong message to those who harbor ill intentions against peace and security. We remain committed to eliminating every threat,” said a senior officer.
Locals in the nearby villages expressed mixed reactions. While some hailed the forces for ensuring safety, others voiced concerns about the persistent instability in the region.
