The Standing Committee of Parliament is going to be Mahtab, Tharoor to finance chief, panel on international affairs

BJP's Bhartrihari Mahtab will chair the finance panel and Congress' Shashi Tharoor will head external affairs. SP will head 11 of the 24 division-related parliamentary committees, while its allies will head four, it was announced on Thursday. Congress will chair four, and DMK and TMC two each.

Congress will chair four, and DMK and TMC two each. SP will head 11 out of 24 division-related parliamentary committees, while its allies will head four, it was announced on Thursday.

BJP's Bhartrihari Mahtab will chair the finance panel and Congress' Shashi Tharoor will head the external affairs.
Former ministers RM Singh and Anurag Thakur will head the panels on Defence, and Coal Mines and Steel, while Nishikant Dubey will chair the Communications and IT. For the first time, MP Radha Mohan Aggarwal has been named the head of the MHA committee.

Rahul Gandhi has been placed in the panel on defence, while his Digvijay Singh heads the committee on education, women, children and youth. Sonia Gandhi does not get a seat on any committee. TMC's Dola Sen will head the panel on trade and Keerti Jha Azad will lead the panel on chemicals and fertilizers.

The JDU, which did not have enough numbers to head a committee, has been given a chance from the BJP's quota - Sanjay Jha will head the panel on transport, tourism and culture. TDP's MS Reddy will head the committee on housing and urban affairs, while lone NCP LS MP Sunil Tatkare will head the panel on petroleum and natural gas. Shiv Sena's Srirang Appa Burne will chair the Shakti panel.
