Jan Surraj chief and former poll strategist lent his support to stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra, who faces a fountain of backlashes as he remarked about Maharashtra deputy chief minister ache north Hindi as a “gaddar”.
Reiterating Kunal Kamra as his friend, Prashant Kishor said that the comedian has no political motives. Also, he has no ulterior motive, and those who think he’s playing politics are mistaken, Kishor added.
The controversy has been triggered as Kamra indicated to Shinde as a “gaddar” during his comedy show Naya Bharat in Mumbai. This incident led to multiple police complaints, venue vandalism and even breath taking life threats from the right-wing groups. Although, the Madras High Court has granted him bail under interim anticipatory bell.
Kunal kamra took these to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm that he won’t be daunted by more pressure or “hide under the bed”.
However being under political trials he shifted speculations about an alliance with Chirag Paswan and said,
“ Oh brother, anyone in the world should come- Chirag should come, lamp should come-lantern should come in hand- there is no question.”
On the contrary, Prashant Kishor stated, “He has no political rivalry. He is one of those who love their country. Maybe he has chosen his words wrongly. If he has done so, then there should be legal action. But I can say he has respect for the country and it’s constitution.”
Kamra praised Chirag Past, as “a mature person, a good person, a young leader”, working for development in the backdrop of caste politics in Bihar.
Kishor also talked about the need for an emergent political practice, adding,
“Some new option should come. Whether that option is Jan Swaraj or not, there can be a debate on this, but people want change.”
