Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend several events during his three-day visit to Assam from March 14, officials said on Tuesday.
In this regard, an Assam government official said that Amit Shah will reach Jorhat on March 14 and visit Barfukan Police Academy in Dergaon on March 15, then proceed to Guwahati, where he will spend the night.
On March 16, the Union Home Minister is scheduled to reach Kokrajhar to attend the annual conference of the All Boro Students Union (ABSU).
ABSU's 57th Annual Conference will be held from March 13 to 16 at Bodofa Fother, Dotmar, Kokrajhar.
This conference is dedicated to Borofa Upendra Nath Brahma.
The Union Home Minister will attend the session on March 16, the last day.
It is also learned that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of Boroland Territorial Council Pramod Boro, senior ministers, members of Parliament and important stakeholders will gather in this session.
Discussions at the event will focus on education, economic initiatives and development programmes, ensuring that diverse perspectives contribute to shaping future policies.
The talks will explore peace, unity and sustainable development in the Bodoland regional region and Assam, with an emphasis on strengthening inter-community cooperation.
The four-day event will have sports competitions, literary competitions, a cultural evening and an exhibition-cum-book fair to showcase Bodo traditions.
A reception will recognize Padma Shri recipient Anil Boro, Sahitya Akademi awardees and high achievers in the field of education.
