Say No to Alcohol and Drugs: A New Campaign Launched by Traders in Lal Chowk, Srinagar

The Lal Chowk, Srinagar traders have launched a new initiative entitled "Say No to Alcohol and Drugs" to combat the growing drug menace in society. The whole campaign will work to make the youth aware of forming a healthy society.

Shopkeepers and businesses have hung up posters reading "avoid liquor and drugs," urging all locals to stay away from addiction. They believe that drug and liquor addiction not only ruins individual lives but also has a deep detrimental impact on families and society.

"There is nothing more than commercial activity in Lal Chowk; we want it to be a harbinger of hope and bring in a positive and healthy environment for youngsters," says a member of a local trader organization.

Such campaigns have garnered massive support from every corner of the local immigrant society. They believe it is such efforts that will help recast awareness and guide the youth of Srinagar toward a better and addiction-free future.

Experts suggest that social initiatives and awareness programs hold the key in fighting substance abuse. The proactive approach of Lal Chowk traders was recognized as a critical development in taking this stride towards social conscience.
