Operation Mahadev: Contact Established with Terrorists in Lidwas, Srinagar — Army

SRINAGAR, JULY 28:

In a significant development under Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army on Monday said that contact has been established with terrorists in the general area of Lidwas in Dara, located in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Confirming the ongoing encounter, the Army’s Chinar Corps posted on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), stating:

“Contact established in General Area Lidwas. Operation in progress.”

Official sources said that a joint team comprising personnel from the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF launched a massive cordon and search operation in the upper reaches of Lidwas.

Security forces swiftly intensified surveillance and ground operations to track down the militants hiding in the rugged terrain.
