As Nobel Prize-winning economist Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, Bangladesh, in particular, cannot afford not to have friendly relations with India, since this Indian neighbor is inextricably tied by deep geographical, economic, and historical connections to its counterpart and must bring the bilateral relations to fruition so that they both might prosper.
Dr. Yunus emphasized that Bangladesh and India can achieve greater success by collaborating in common interests such as trade, investment, energy, and climate change, etc. Redoubling efforts in these areas would bring immense benefit to both countries.
He furthermore pointed out that, highly vital for Bangladesh's stability and economic growth, and especially with respect to transport, trade, and regional connectivity, India is most significant among Bangladesh's partners.
Experts believe that bettering diplomatic relations will strengthen economic and social benefits, ensuring prosperity for both countries.
