Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)’s resounding victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections as a clear mandate for development, good governance, and social justice. Speaking after the NDA crossed the two-thirds mark, winning nearly 200 seats in the 243-member house, Modi described the landslide as a triumph of the people’s aspirations over outdated politics.
Modi said Bihar’s voters have given a new “MY formula,” symbolizing Mahila (women) and Yuva (youth), breaking away from the past divisive “appeasement” strategies centered on caste and religion. He asserted this fresh formula reflected the state’s demographic strength and collective dreams, “destroying the old communal MY formula of Jungle Raj,” a term Modi frequently used to criticize the previous RJD government. With 100 million youth across religions and castes, Modi stressed Bihar’s future lies in empowering this demographic.
Thanking the election commission for ensuring free and fair polls with record voter turnout, especially among women, Modi said the vote was also a victory for public trust in democracy. He expressed gratitude to the NDA’s dedicated workers who tirelessly campaigned to connect with people and counter misinformation.
Modi gave full credit for the win to the coalition’s development agenda under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership. “The NDA provided all-round development to the state,” he said, congratulating Nitish Kumar and allies like Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha for their role in achieving this unprecedented mandate.
Promising “even more” progress ahead, Modi emphasized infrastructure growth, cultural pride, and new economic opportunities for Bihar’s youth and women. The NDA’s victory reflects voter endorsement of governance over the politics of division, signaling a transformative phase for Bihar’s social and economic landscape.
Bihar’s election outcome marks a decisive break from the past, with Modi’s vision for an inclusive, prosperous Bihar poised to shape the state’s trajectory in the coming years.
