Bihar voters rally behind Nitish Kumar and NDA for decisive win

In the run‑up to the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, senior leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are publicly projecting Nitish Kumar as the face of the alliance in the state, highlighting the widespread trust and support he enjoys among voters. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan pointed to good governance, improved internal security and a unified campaign as key factors that will deliver a decisive victory for the NDA.

According to Pradhan, the alliance has consciously framed its appeal around the aspirations of Bihar’s citizens rather than mere electoral mechanics. He argued that voters now favour performance and stability over change for its own sake. He went on to note that the NDA has a long‑standing presence in Bihar politics, and this continuity gives it an advantage.

In the interview, Pradhan dismissed notions of an anti‑incumbency mood, stressing that Bihar is now in an “aspirational” phase driven by infrastructure and development gains. He pointed to some of the visible changes such as new hotel infrastructure in Purnia and a rise in air connectivity at Darbhanga as signs that the state is moving forward. He further emphasised that Nitish Kumar remains physically active and campaigning robustly despite questions about his age, countering any speculation about his health.

Behind the scenes, the NDA says it has finalised its seat‑sharing arrangement and candidate list based on winnability and strong ground‑level organisation. The focus is squarely on presenting a unified front and pitching the election as a choice between governance delivery and the opposition’s vision. With the campaign gearing up for the next phase, the alliance appears confident that its combined appeal through Nitish Kumar’s leadership and its track record will secure a comfortable majority.
