Jacqueline Fernandez is mourning deeply the death of her mother, Kim Fernandez, who passed away after being admitted to the hospital following a stroke. Kim, who generally avoided the limelight, was a tough and guiding presence in Jacqueline's life. Though medical help was given, she unfortunately couldn't be saved.
Jacqueline was extremely close to her mother and has not yet issued a public statement regarding her death. The funeral and last rites are likely to be a private ceremony, with only close friends and relatives in attendance.
On March 24, Kim was admitted to the ICU of Lilavati Hospital following a stroke. The moment she received the news, Jacqueline left for her house immediately to spend time with her mother. She went to the hospital regularly to accompany Kim through this hardship.
A person close to Jacqueline said she was to perform at the IPL ceremony on March 26 in Guwahati, where there was a match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders. But she preferred to remain by her mother in the ICU rather. The person said to HT, "Jacqueline's mother is still in the ICU recovering.". While the family awaits word from the doctors, Jacqueline has decided to stay with her mother and will regretfully miss the IPL performance.
Jacqueline's co-star in Kick, Salman Khan, was also spotted at the hospital, dropping by to express his support.
In 2022, Kim suffered a stroke and was treated in Bahrain in a hospital. She resided in Manama, Bahrain, and was of diverse origin, with Malaysian and Canadian descent. Her maternal grandfather was Canadian and her great-grandparents were Goan Indian.
