Kulgam, Dec 17:As part of the ongoing special drive against traffic violators, the Traffic Police on Wednesday conducted an intensified enforcement drive at various locations across the Qazigund–Kulgam sector.
The special drive was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Traffic, Mohd Aslam, along with multiple traffic teams, with the objective of curbing traffic violations and ensuring smooth vehicular movement for the general public.
During the drive, a total of six vehicles were seized, 122 on-the-spot challans were issued, and penalties amounting to ₹54,000 were imposed on violators.
Besides enforcement, an awareness programme was also conducted to educate drivers and the general public about the importance of adhering to traffic rules and their strict implementation on the ground. Motorists were sensitised about road safety, disciplined driving, and the role of traffic rules in preventing accidents.
The special drive forms part of the Traffic Police’s sustained efforts to streamline traffic movement and provide safe and smooth passage to commuters. The initiative was widely appreciated by the general public.
DySP Traffic Mohd Aslam urged vehicle drivers, especially bikers, to strictly follow traffic rules for their own safety and the safety of others on the road.
